Idaho Standards for Public Works Construction (ISPWC)
To Manual User:
The Idaho Standards for Public Works Construction Committee is pleased to present the 2010 Revision Set to the ISPWC Technical Specifications Manual. This Revision Set updates the Technical Specifications Manual that was published in 2005. This 2010 Revision Set update is a companion to the 2007 and 2008 Revision Sets.
The purpose of the Revision Set is to incorporate comments that have been received from manual holders as well as update the manual for new trends in the construction industry. The entire ISPWC Technical Manual, including ALL Revision Sets through the 2010 update, is available in PDF format on compact disk from LHTAC. Also, a 2010 update to the 1999 ISPWC Owners and Specifiers Manual is also now available. This manual contains all the forms needed to create a Project Manual and is based on the 2007 Engineers Joint Contract Documents Committee (EJCDC) materials. An order form for these products is linked below.
Please note that the Executive Committee of the ISPWC is considering two major changes for the next ISPWC Technical Specifications Revision Set and is soliciting input before proceeding. These proposed changes are:
Elimination of eccentric cones for manholes used for sanitary sewer and storm sewer applications.
Elimination of access steps into manholes for sanitary sewer and storm sewer applications.
The reasoning behind these two proposed changes is to reduce the likelihood of manhole access to sanitary and storm sewers without typical confined spaces access equipment, which usually includes a tri-pod and harness set up. We seek input on these proposed major changes that the Executive Committee is planning to implement. Please contact Tim Haener, P.E. at tjh@jub.com or 208-376-7330 to provide specific input regarding this proposal.
Thank you for being an active user of the ISPWC. As always, we seek your input to make the documents better over time. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact the Executive Committee through LHTAC at lhtac@lhtac.org or 208-344-0565 (in the Boise area) or 1-800-259-6841 (outside the Boise area).
John D. Tensen, P.E.
