The Build a Better Mousetrap national competition is a chance for local highway jurisdictions to share their innovative ideas with the rest of the United States. Each state’s Local Technical Assistance Program collects ideas from their area and submits it to the Federal Highway Administration.

Congratulations to our 2023 Build a Better Mousetrap winners!
Winners in each category will be presented a trophy in front of their governing commission and recognized at their relevant association’s annual conference. Winners will also receive a free class through the T2 Center.
Winners of individual awards will also receive a cash-value gift card from LHTAC.
LHTAC will also submit winning entries to the national Build a Better Mousetrap competition.
