Staff Engineer
We are looking for Professional Engineer that can immediately fulfill Staff Engineer level responsibilities working within a
number of programs. A qualified candidate will assist local highway jurisdictions in selecting and managing project consultants
through the development of project plans, specifications, and estimates to comply with Federal standards. The potential
candidate may have less experience but shows a desire to learn about our mission and deliverables.
Experience for this position may include:
• Experience with design of roadway, bridges, and/or alternative transportation projects
• Experience with Federal-aid standards and requirements
• Experience negotiating design agreements including man-hour estimates and fees
• Participation in design review meetings with local agencies, consultants, and other staff at different phases of design to
ensure design standards are met
• Other project management experience that demonstrates organization, attention to detail, administrative skills
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders and providing technical knowledge to advise and resolve possible problems
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required from an ABET accredited institution
• Idaho driver’s license
• At least two years of civil engineering work experience
• Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer license within two years
• Experience in roadway and bridge engineering
• Project management experience is preferred; familiarity with the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) and Federal
Highway Administration (FHWA) is a plus
• Survey, Right-of-way, Bridge and/or Hydraulics experience would be a plus
• An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities to
successfully perform the essential functions of the position may be considered
Salary:
• Salary range for mid-level P.E. starting at $107,000; Increased compensation for additional qualifications & experience
