Taking Action to Reduce Rural Roadway Departures Systemically

Rural Agencies and Tribes, come learn what you can do, where you are, with what you have, to reduce rural roadway departures. You can make a difference!

Speakers and Topics to be covered include:

• Cate Satterfield, FHWA Office of Safety, will discuss why it is important for every agency to accept the call to action on this important safety issue.
• Rick Tippett, Trinity County, California, will discuss how the systemic approach is the way to make cost-effective improvements to reduce the likelihood of future crashes.
• Victor Lund, St. Louis County, Minnesota will discuss how they have used a local road safety plan to guide them in improvements that have reduced crashes on the county system.
