One-Time TAP Funding

FUNDING OPPORTUNITY FOR LOCALS!

ITD is taking alternative transportation project applications for FY2017 TAP-Safety. This is a special one-time application.

The Idaho Transportation Department is now soliciting applications through the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP). The intent of this solicitation is aimed at reducing Fatal and Serious Injury (Type A) crashes that involve pedestrians and bicyclists through infrastructure improvements. The Department has received a one-time amount of approximately $1.4M to put towards this effort. Eligibility for these one-time funds is based on the number of Fatal and Serious Injury (Type A) crashes per jurisdiction using five year crash data from 2011 to 2015.

At a minimum, application requirements include:

  • Addressing infrastructure improvement to reduce fatalities and/or serious injuries, based off collected crash data between 2011 and 2015. See Idaho Local Road Crash Data 2011-2015 map at http://gis.lhtac.org/safety/.
  • Commitment to completing the design and be construction-ready by July 1, 2017.
  • Ability to provide a local cash-only match of 7.34%.
  • Projects that have secured necessary right-of-way.
  • Projects that have Environmental requirements that do not exceed Categorical Exclusion.
