In 2013, 3,154 people lost their lives to distracted driving crashes. No text is worth a life, yet many decide to put themselves and others at risk every day doing just that – in fact, over 660,000 people are using a cell phone or manipulating an electronic device while driving at any given moment of the day. Legislative Update

The Legislature has gone home.  With the adjournment of the Legislative session, House Bill 329 died in committee. This bill would have eliminated most of LHTAC services for locals. (more…)

3D Engineered Models: Schedule, Cost and Post-Production

Every Day Counts

April’s innovation of the month is 3D Engineered Models, a basic building block of today’s digital highway that allows for faster, more accurate and more efficient planning and construction.

After encouraging the adoption of 3D Engineered Models in the second round of Every Day Counts, the Federal Highway Administration is continuing to promote the technology in EDC3 to help the transportation community reap even more benefits. (more…)
