2015 LRHIP Awards Announced

The Local Rural Highway Investment Program is a grant program that provides funding for road paving, drainage structure replacement, signage upgrades, transportation planning, reconstructing roadways, and most other types of construction on any public road.

The program is financed through an exchange of STP-Rural funds by LHTAC with the Idaho Transportation Department at $0.61 per $1.00 for $2.8 million in state funds.

Welcome Megan Kautz!

Please join LHTAC in welcoming Megan Kautz, EIT, as LHTAC’s new Construction Coordinator. She will be assisting LHATC’s Construction Section with the administration of projects.  Megan comes to us from the ITD District 2 office, where she was completing her EIT rotation. She will take over the construction administration of LHTAC projects in Districts 4, 5 & 6.

Steve Sprague has transferred sections to work with Laila Kral to assist with the construction oversight of the Local Highway Safety Improvement Program (LHSIP). Steve will be coordinating construction on safety projects.

District 5 & 6 Project Advertisement Status

Key 9245, Pleasant Valley Bridge

Sponsor: Clark County

Fiscal Year: 2014

Consultant: Butler Engineers

This project consists of redecking the existing historic bridge located north of Dubois. The PS&E package is being prepared and anticipate the project will be bid later this summer.

Key 10609, Eagle Rock and Anderson Canal Bridges

Sponsor: Bonneville County

Fiscal Year: 2014

Consultant: Butler Engineers

This project consists of replacing the existing bridges over the canals on the edge of Ririe. The final design is being completed and then the PS&E package. Anticipate this project will bid later this summer. (more…)

District 1 & 2 Project Advertisement Status

District 1 Project Advertisement Status as of February 21, 2014

Key 11551, Prairie Ave, Meyer Road to Huetter Road

Sponsor: Post Falls Highway District

Fiscal Year: 2014

Consultant: Welch Comer

This project will widen the two lane roadway into five lanes and install sidewalk with ADA sidewalk ramps. The project has completed final design and PS&E will be submitted once utility agreements are in place. Anticipate Bid Opening Early Summer.

Key 11993, S Fk CDA River Bridge S of Enaville

Sponsor: Shoshone County

Fiscal Year: 2014

Consultant: David Evans & Associates

This project is bridge reconstruction and roadway improvements of CDA River Road near Enaville, ID. The project is completing the last property purchasing and PS&E will be submitted once this is in place. Anticipate Bid Opening Early Summer.
