T2 Center Survey

The LHTAC T2 Center is part of a national program known as the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP). We provide training and technical assistance to meet the needs of highway jurisdictions in Idaho.

Take Care of Your Bridges Now Before It’s Too Late

Municipal Bridges – Maintenance Recommendations for Municipalities

The lack of simple bridge maintenance in many Massachusetts municipalities is significantly affecting bridge structural capacity, personal safety, and overall condition. Under Federal law, MassDOT inspects, or receives inspection reports on all bridges on public highways in the state every two years. These reports must be reviewed by MassDOT within 90 days of the field inspection. The reports are then sent to each municipality. (more…)

A Read to Consider…A Procedure for Assessing and Planning Nighttime Highway Construction and Maintenance – NCHRP Report 475

Preface: Increasingly, it is becoming necessary to conduct construction and maintenance on operational highways while the highway continues to carry its normal traffic volume, or close to its normal volume. The public and community often expect that such work will result in little or no disruption to normal travel patterns and not limit access to land use along the highway corridor. There is also increasing concern for the safety of the traveling public and workers at highway work sites. In addition, highway agencies are under increasing pressure to complete the work in a manner that addresses quality, cost, and scheduling criteria, enabling construction and repair workers to “get in, get out, and stay out.” (more…)

T2 Center’s Fall Classes

Registration for our fall classes will start in September. Click HERE to see a PDF listing the dates, course titles and locations. Registration will open as follows:

Northern Idaho September 9th at 8 a.m. MST
Western Idaho September 10th at 8 a.m. MST
S. Central Idaho September 10th at 8 a.m. MST
Eastern Idaho September 11th at 8 a.m. MST

How to Register

Go to www.lhtac.org,and log in with your user name and password. If you do not have a user name and
password, click on the link “request login” at the bottom of the page.

An email confirmation will be sent stating whether or not you are confirmed for the course.  If you are not confirmed, you will be placed on a waiting list and someone will notify you if an opening is available.  If you have questions, contact the LHTAC T2 Center 208-344-0565 or idahot2@lhtac.org.

LHTAC Annual Workshops

This fall the LHTAC staff will travel to all 6 ITD Districts and present a half-day workshop overviewing our programs. This year we’ve added two extra stops in New Meadows and Challis in hopes to reach more jurisdictions. Our presentations will focus on applications and how to submit a successful package. We have also added a brief presentation on how to properly fill out your Road and Street Financial Report. (more…)
