Hearing scheduled on applications for new 129,000-pound truck routes on ID 52, ID 72, U.S. 30

FRUITLAND – A public hearing will be held Wednesday (Dec. 19) to take comments on applications to allow trucks weighing up to 129,000 pounds on sections of Idaho 52, Idaho 72 and U.S. 30.

These shipments are reducible, meaning cargo or goods can be removed to make a shipment lighter.

The hearing will be in Fruitland on Wednesday (Dec. 19) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fruitland City Hall, 200 S. Whitley Drive.

Comments will be taken on an application to allow trucks weighing up to 129,000 pounds on Idaho 52 from Milepost 14.4 (the highway’s intersection with Idaho 72) to Milepost 28.4 in Emmett.

Comments also will be taken on an application to allow trucks weighing up to 129,000 pounds on a section of Idaho 72 from Milepost 0 (the highway’s intersection with U.S. 30) to Milepost 1.99 (the highway’s intersection with Idaho 52).

In addition, comments will be taken on an application to allow trucks weighing up to 129,000 pounds on a section of U.S. 30 from Milepost 21.53 (the highway’s intersection with U.S. 95) to Milepost 27.94 (the highway’s intersection with Idaho 72).

At the hearing, there will be an opportunity to give verbal or written testimony. Those interested in reviewing the applications before the hearing can visit itd.idaho.gov/freight/?target=129000-lbs-route-requests, and click on 129k Pending Route Requests.
