Description:

The Local Highway Technical Assistance Council received funding to provide a demonstration workshop on Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil–Integrated Bridge System (GRS–IBS) bridge construction in North Idaho. The 1-day workshop includes a ½ day morning session of in-person classroom instruction using HMH Engineering’s topic experts and an afternoon ½ day onsite observation of the active construction site.

GRS-IBS is an innovation to help reduce bridge construction time and cost. GRS-IBS projects can be built in weeks instead of months, due to the ease of construction and the use of readily available materials and equipment. Reduced construction schedule translates into less exposure around work zones improving safety. Idaho has adopted GRS-IBS as a focus for the state.

Cost of attending this workshop will be funded through the grant. The focus audience for this workshop is Local Highway Jurisdiction roadway supervisors, foreman and employees.

At this time, we are limiting attendees to two (2) per agency. If you have more employees that wish to attend, they can be added to a waitlist. Email dchristensen@lhtac.org to request additional spots.

MUST bring your own safety shoes, hard hat, & safety vest for tour!
