Mayor Diana Thomas
Diana Thomas was born and raised in Idaho. She and her husband, Mike were married in 1965 and have two sons and three grandchildren. They moved to Weiser in 1971 to teach in the Weiser School District. After 25 years in education in Idaho Diana began working across the river with the staff and School Board in Annex, Oregon. She remained there as Superintendent/Principal for 8 years. During her tenure there she also taught classes for Treasure Valley Community College and Eastern Oregon University.
Throughout her time in Weiser, Mayor Thomas has stayed active in civic and social organizations. She currently sits on the Weiser Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, Weiser Nazarene Church Board, and is a member of several local and International organizations.
In 2000, Diana was elected as a Washington County Commissioner. She held this seat until August 2007 when she was appointed by Governor Otter to the legislature to replace Representative Clete Edmunson for the remainder of his term.
Following her year in the legislature, she worked for two years for Weiser attorney and City Attorney, Chuck Kroll. Because of her belief in and commitment to the City of Weiser, Diana ran for and was elected Mayor of the City of Weiser in November 2011.
Mayor Thomas enjoys spending time with her family, golfing, reading, and making a valiant effort to learn to fly fish.
