Proposed 129,000 lb truck routes on U.S. 12, Idaho 13 and Idaho 162

Hearing scheduled to take comment on proposed 129,000-pound truck routes on U.S. 12, Idaho 13 and Idaho 162

BOISE – A public hearing will be held in Kamiah to take comment on applications allowing trucks weighing up to 129,000 pounds on sections of U.S. 12, Idaho 13 and Idaho 162.

These shipments are reducible, meaning cargo or goods can be removed to make a shipment lighter.

Comments will be taken on an application to allow trucks on U.S. 12 from Milepost 66.22 to Milepost 73.85 (Kamiah to Kooskia), on Idaho 13 from Milepost 0 to Milepost 26.39 (Kooskia to Grangeville) and on Idaho 162 from Milepost 31.07 to Milepost 8 (Kamiah to 4 Corners).

The hearing in Kamiah will be Thursday, Aug. 27, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Kamiah Elementary School multi-purpose room, 711 9th Street.

Transportation department staff will be at the hearing to answer questions, and displays will illustrate truck and route information. There will be an opportunity to give verbal or written comments.

Those interested in reviewing the applications before the hearing can visit www.itd.idaho.gov/129K/default.htm, and click on the individual route applications that are listed under the Submitted Requests headline.

Those interested in submitting comments before or after the hearing can do so by visiting the webpage. Comments on the route will be received through Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015.
