The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is hosting a training workshop on 3D Modeling and Automated Machine Grading (AMG). The workshop will highlight the technologies used in developing the grade separated Thornton Interchange. The Thornton Interchange is currently under construction and the workshop participants will be given an on the job experience in addition to classroom style presentations.

The workshop is primarily funded by a grant received from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Public agency employees’ participation (travel, accommodations, per diem) will be covered with the grant money. Private attendees (e.g., contractors, consultants) will have to provide their own accommodations, travel arrangements, and pay a small registration fee (to be determined) to cover expenses for breaks and lunches.
