Delivery of One-Time Safety Program

We are happy to confirm the on-time delivery of the FY 2017 One-Time Safety Program projects approved by the Idaho Transportation Board last year. LHTAC staff delivered all documents by July 31st.

LHTAC committed to delivering seven local projects, as well as three projects jointly funded by Local Sponsors and ITD by the August 1, 2017 deadline outlined by the Board. These projects totaled $4.39M in dedicated funds. Honoring that commitment required cooperation and dedication from all parties involved and LHTAC received that cooperation from ITD.

I would like to personally express my thanks to the members of the ITD Environmental Section. ITD Environmental staff was informed of the tight delivery window, and when LHTAC requested Environmental staff to turn documents around as quickly as possible our needs were met. The commitment by Michele Fikel, Tracy Schwartz, Marc Munch, Vicky Jewell-Guerra, and Melinda Lowe, under the direction of Sue Sullivan was extraordinary, and all requests submitted were handled quickly and efficiently.

Additionally, Contracting Services drafted and executed all requests for Consultant Contracts and State and Local Agreements for these ten projects in a timely manner. Holly McClure processed all documents requested in a way that reflected the dedication required to insure these projects could be delivered as promised.

LHTAC is committed to providing excellent customer service to all Local Highway Jurisdictions we represent. Continued cooperation between LHTAC and ITD staff is essential to maintain this commitment. I would like to convey my sincere appreciation and thanks to all ITD staff for the work they do, especially those individuals listed above.

LHTAC would like to express our appreciation to the Transportation Board for sharing these funds to save lives on the local highway system.

Sincerely,

Jeff R. Miles, PE

LHTAC Administrator
