Proposed 129,000 lb truck routes on Idaho 16, U.S. 20-26

Hearing scheduled to take comment on applications for proposed 129,000-pound truck routes on Idaho 16, U.S. 20-26

BOISE – A public hearing will be held in Eagle to take comment on applications allowing trucks weighing up to 129,000 pounds on sections of Idaho 16 and U.S. 20-26.

These shipments are reducible, meaning cargo or goods can be removed to make a shipment lighter.

Comments will be taken on an application to allow trucks on Idaho 16 from Milepost 97.90 to Milepost 100 (the junction of Idaho 16/U.S. 20-26 northbound to the junction of Idaho 16/Idaho 44) and on U.S. 20-26 from Milepost 34.27 to Milepost 52.81 (the junction of Idaho 16/U.S. 20-26 eastbound to the junction of Broadway Avenue/Interstate 84 in Boise).

The hearing will be Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Eagle High School cafeteria, 574 N. Park Lane, Eagle.

Transportation department staff will be at the hearing to answer questions, and displays will illustrate truck and route information. There will be an opportunity to submit verbal or written comments.

Those interested in submitting comments before or after the hearing can do so by visiting the webpage. Comments on the route will be received through Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015.
