2018 Boise Safety Fest – Another Great Year!

2018 Boise Safety Fest

Over 1,200 participants received free training!

Over 1,200 people representing over 240 companies attended the 13th Annual Safety Fest of the Great Northwest in Boise, Idaho.  Volunteer instructors (over a third were ASSE members) taught 62 FREE training classes over the 4 day event, which also included a vendor trade show, Opening Ceremony, and Lunch with OSHA.  With support from 45 founding partners and vendors across the northwest, the event has emerged as a premier source for free continuing education on safety–focused topics across multiple industries including agriculture, construction, manufacturing, mining, and transportation. Local Agency Training and Technical Assistance Needs Assessment

The Federal Highway Administration is requesting your participation in the Local Agency Training and Technical Assistance Needs Assessment. The Idaho LHTAC T2 Center is a Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) center. When taking the Assessment, whenever the survey asks about the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) Center, they are referencing the T2 Center. The two terms could be used interchangeably for the purpose of the assessment. The following questions specifically reference LTAP or T2 Centers; Q27, Q31, and Q34.

LHTAC and FHWA are Hosting a Bike and Pedestrian Workshop in May

The Local Highway Technical Assistance Council (LHTAC) received incentive funding to provide a demonstration workshop on Safe Transportation for Every Pedestrian (STEP). The two day workshop will include class instruction using FHWA experts and an onsite observation.  (more…)

Free Retroreflective Sign Test Kit

LHTAC Retroreflective Sign Test Kit

 

LHTAC is providing one FREE Retroreflectivity Sign Testing Kit to each Local Highway Jurisdiction. These kits are intended to serve as an affordable alternative to purchasing a costly retroreflectometer. Sign kits can be used to assess the retroreflectivity of signs in your jurisdiction to insure compliance with the minimum levels established in the current version of the Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).

Registration will run November 15 –  December 13, 2017.

Classes fill up fast, so don’t delay in registering for classes. We recommend you get on the website and create an account prior to registration beginning if you have not already done so. To do this, go to the Boise Safety Fest website http://safetyfest-boise.org/  and then click the tab on the top banner that says Account Registration. This will save you time when registration opens.
