New Mobility West – Community Assistance Application

LHTAC would like to share some exciting opportunities that Community Builders is offering for technical assistance this winter. They are currently accepting applications for these opportunties through December 9th.   There are two options for technical assistance:

The first is the New Mobility West assistance, which helps communities address transportation-related issues such as:

  1. State highways in communities
  2. Local capital improvement planning and investment
  3. Reshaping commercial corridors

They are expanding the issues their targeted technical assistance can address through Community Builders assistance, which can help communities:

  1. Enable infill & redevelopment
  2. Respond to the changing market (by diversifying their housing stock, for example)
  3. Diversify local economies
  4. Build leadership, partnerships, and community engagement

Projects that are selected generally last about 6 months in duration, and include a 2-4 day site visit (often in a design charrette format) as well as an action-oriented report.   Applications, example past projects, and more information can be found at: https://communitybuilders.org/how-we-help/community-assistance/fall-2016-technical-assistance

Environmental Justice Training

ITD and the EPA are providing an Environmental Justice training on November 2, 2016.

This is an easy way to provide “annual training” to your staff on Title VI Civil Rights, and Environmental Justice.

The training will be broadcast to ITD District Offices across the state from Boise.  The EPA will be available to answer any questions via video.

ITD will also have a limited number of WebEx logins, so if travelling to the district office is not an option (or if you have a large group), please let Russ Rivera know and he can get you the WebEx invite.
