LHTAC’s new Federal-aid engineers bring us back to full staff.

Muhammad Zubery and Bryan Martin

LHTAC is pleased to announce that we’ve recently hired 2 new employees to fill our vacant staff positions. They will be working as part of the Federal-aid Design team, covering separate regions of the state. Our Federal-aid Engineers assist Local Highway Jurisdictions (LHJs) in preparing projects and contracts for submission for federal funding participation. They also assist LHJs in selecting and managing project consultants to develop contract bid documents and associated documents for constructing transportation facilities.

We are excited to finally be back at our full staff level so we can provide more assistance and service to our LHJs. Our new engineers will be highlighted with a short biography in our March 2016 LHTAC Times Newsletter. For questions please contact Scott Ellsworth, our Federal-aid Manager, at 208-344-0565 sellsworth@lhtac.org.

You can find a full listing of our employees and our organization chart on our website.

2016 ADA Application Release

Funding Opportunity!

AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES (ADA) CURB/RAMP PROGRAM

This information is being sent out by LHTAC as a courtesy to inform locals about this funding opportunity.

The Idaho Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Curb Ramp Program is a state-administered program that provides funding for projects to address curb ramps on the state highway system. The goal of the program is to provide accessible facilities for pedestrians with disabilities while allowing local jurisdiction flexibility in meeting the required standards. The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is allocating $500,000 of state funds annually for this program. Applicants can qualify for up to $60,000 in state funding to construct new or alter existing curb ramps on the state highway system to meet the requirements of the ADA. Funds can only be used for construction purposes. This program provides local communities more control over the design of pedestrian facilities in their communities and makes better economical use of dollars through the use of state funds while addressing accessibility on the state highway system.

Visit ITD’s website for more information and to download the application. http://itd.idaho.gov/ContractingServices/ADA/default.htm
