IOEM announces 2019 HMA grant application period 

The Idaho Office of Emergency Management (IOEM) announces the availability of FY 2019 Hazard Mitigation Assistance grant programs funds for Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) and Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency. These grant opportunities provide risk reduction to individuals and property from natural hazards, while simultaneously reducing reliance on Federal disaster funds. (more…)

Idaho Walk Bike Alliance’s Transportation Policy Conference, October 28-29

The Idaho Walk Bike Alliance (IWBA) is hosting a Transportation Policy Conference in Boise on October 28th and 29 in Boise, Idaho. 

On Monday they will launch the conference with a Networking Reception at Beside Bardenay. This reception will be the perfect opportunity to meet and talk with policy makers, transportation professionals, IWBA members, and other concerned citizens. 

On Tuesday morning the conference will begin at the Idaho State Capital. The goal of the conference is to educate and raise awareness of the importance and benefits of walkable and bikeable communities to policy makers and other key stakeholders in Idaho. We want to fill the Lincoln Auditorium for the day with Idahoans interested in a balanced transportation system that includes walking, biking and transit. 

Early Bird Registration ends September 29 so register today.

Remembering Lan Smith

It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that we lost an LHTAC employee.  Lan Smith and his wife Pam died in a plane crash last week. 

LHTAC is grieving for the loss of a coworker, close friend, and wonderful human being. Lan was known for his kind heart and contagious smile. He had a true passion for serving his community and helping all local jurisdictions. 

As a Gem County Commissioner, Lan served on the LHTAC Council from 2007 to 2015. Lan continued with LHTAC after serving on the Council as the Local Liaison from 2015 until his passing.
